Long Island's 2013 Intel semifinalists
These 53 Long Island high school seniors are among 300 semifinalists nationally in the Intel Science Talent Search 2013. They were selected from more than 1,700 entrants and come from 190 high schools in more than 30 states, plus one American high school overseas. Semifinalists are awarded $1,000 and their high schools each receive a matching $1,000. Forty finalists nationwide will be announced Jan. 23. They will compete from March 7-12 in Washington, D.C., for the top 10, with a top award of $100,000.
