Meet Long Island’s 2014 Intel semifinalists

These 51 Long Island high school seniors are among 300 semifinalists nationally in the Intel Science Talent Search 2014. They were selected from more than 1,700 entrants and come from 489 high schools in 45 states, the District of Columbia, and seven overseas schools. Semifinalists are awarded $1,000 and their high schools each receive a matching $1,000. Forty finalists nationwide will be chosen to compete in March in Washington, D.C., for the top 10 to share $630,000 in awards.
