Where detained immigrant children are released to sponsors

Suffolk and Nassau rank at the top of U.S. counties where unaccompanied immigrant children who have been apprehended by immigration authorities are placed with sponsors. Suffolk is third in the nation with 4,063 and Nassau has moved up to seventh with 3,430. Here are figures from the U.S. Office of Refugee Resettlement showing locations where 50 or more children were placed as of Nov. 30, 2016.
