Individual donors on Long Island have contributed nearly $3.8 million to major-party presidential candidates as of the beginning of March, according to documents filed with the Federal Election Commission late last month. For the 13 southernmost counties in New York, the total is $41 million out of a statewide total of $44.3 million. Here are details on the contributions from Long Island, followed by New York City and then the northern suburbs, including donations to candidates who have since dropped out of the race, as well as refunds made to contributors.
