Long Island ranks high in deportation program

Nassau and Suffolk counties accounted for more than 25 percent of undocumented immigrants in New York deported as of the end of July 2014 under a federal information-sharing program in which the U.S. Department of Homeland Security checks fingerprints and personal data of people facing criminal charges against a federal database that tracks immigrants sought by the government.
