Contributions to Assembly races
The information is bases on financial disclosure reports filed at the New York State Board of Elections, which are entered into the board's database directly from e-mail, diskette, CD or DVD filings submitted by committee treasurers or candidates. The information in paper filings is entered exactly as it appears on the forms. Some small amounts reported from financial institutions are actually interest or dividend payments. The state board warns that because their database lists information exactly the way it is reported by candidates or committees, search results may be inaccurate or incomplete. This will occur, for example, if filers do not adhere to the required format, do not use the proper codes, misspell words or leave items blank. While the board requires treasurers to submit amended reports as needed, there will be delays before a review process is completed and the information in the database is corrected.
