Background:

Bishop was first elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002. He serves on the House Education and Workforce Committee and the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. Bishop graduated from Southampton High School, has a bachelor's degree in history from Holy Cross College and holds a master's degree in public administration from Long Island University.
