Long Island rocks, and bands from across Nassau and Suffolk are again ready to prove it! Our second annual Newsday Battle of the Bands Contest is looking to crown the most talented music group rocking the Island.

Listen to more than 50 local bands below, then vote for your favorites. You can cast up to three votes every day, before voting ends on Wednesday, July 26, at noon.

Your votes will help narrow the competition to a Top 10. Then, a panel of music industry judges – including 94.3 The Shark’s DJ Orlando and Newsday’s music critic, Glenn Gamboa – will choose a winner from among the Top 10 bands with the most reader votes.

This year’s Newsday Battle of the Bands Contest winner will receive: an opening act slot at The Paramount in Huntington, plus a band profile written by Gamboa that will appear in Newsday and on Newsday.com, and of course, ultimate bragging rights as the greatest band on Long Island and Newsday’s Battle of the Bands champion.

Read the complete contest rules here, and click here to meet last year’s winner, Oak & Ash.
